1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and display name. When you submit reviews, we collect the review content, ratings, bias votes, accuracy votes, and associated metadata. We also collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, and device information through standard analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve Web Jury, display your reviews and ratings publicly (associated with your username), calculate aggregate trust scores, bias ratings, and accuracy metrics, detect and prevent abuse or manipulation of our rating systems, and communicate with you about your account and platform updates.

3. Public Information

Reviews, ratings, bias votes, accuracy votes, and your username are public by default. This is core to Web Jury's mission of transparency. Your email address is never displayed publicly.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share aggregated, anonymized data (such as overall trust scores and bias distributions) publicly and with partners. We may share information when required by law or to protect the safety of our users and platform.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with our platform. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time through your account settings. You can request a copy of your data or request deletion by contacting us at privacy@web-jury.com. Note that deleting your account will remove your profile but reviews may remain in anonymized form for the integrity of aggregate scores.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
