Web Jury publishes ratings that people write about media outlets, journalists and creators. Those ratings are opinion, and they are sometimes about people who would rather not be rated. This page is how you object.
A named Grievance Officer has not yet been appointed. Until one is, grievances are read and actioned by the operator of this site, to the same deadlines set out below, at grievance@web-jury.com. We would rather say this plainly than print a name that is not real.
So that we can act rather than write back asking, please include: a link to the exact page or rating, what specifically is wrong with it, and how to reach you. If you are writing on someone's behalf, say whose.
These are the timings set by India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We apply them to everyone, not only to complainants in India.
| What happens | Within |
|---|---|
| We acknowledge your grievance | 24 hours |
| We resolve it and tell you what we did | 15 days |
| We act on a court order or an order from an authorised government agency | 36 hours |
| We act on a complaint about non-consensual intimate imagery or impersonation | 24 hours |
| We provide information to an authorised agency | 72 hours |
| We retain removed content and its records | 180 days |
We will remove content that is unlawful, that breaks our community guidelines, or that a court or an authorised agency orders us to remove.
We will not remove a rating because its subject disagrees with it. A crowd rating is an opinion held by the people who filed it, computed by a published formula, and a platform that deleted opinions on request would not be a record of anything. If you are the subject, you can claim your page and respond on the record, which we think answers the complaint better than a deletion would.
